MANILA, Philippines - Exciting new acts ranging from car drifting, synchronized swimming, motor stunts, flairtending, and dog tricks made it to this season’s Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Top 36 acts that will compete in the much-awaited quarterfinals of the talent-reality search.
The quarterfinalists are composed of 14 dance acts; seven singing acts; three musical acts; and 12 variety/novelty acts that include various stunts, outdoor acts, magic acts and a whole lot more.
Aside from welcoming a variety of new acts this season, PGT 4 also proved to be the biggest edition yet as the show conducted worldwide and online auditions. Among those who auditioned abroad via TFCkat, two of them made it through namely Russel Figueroa of Canada and Cris Bernardo of Dubai.
Joining them are belly dancer with sword Sundee Viñas; singer Eumee Lyn Capile; boy crooner John Neil Roa; acrobats Eyx-Point; black light dancers Zilent Overload; flagtwirlers Si.Co.Gu.; comedic magician Michael Fernando a.k.a. Mifer; singer Randy De Silva; dog trainer Florendo “Randy” Macalma; Mp3 Band; wheelchair dancers Tahanang Walang Hagdan Wheelchair Dancesport and BMG; twins dance group Symmetry; breakdancers D’ Intensity Breakers; acrobats Lumina; violinist group The Fluma Viron of Cuerdas; quick mask artist Cris Castro; can can dancers Regidor Elementary School; gymnasts of Philippine Gymnastics Athletics and Academy; metal ring dancer Frankendal Fabroa; illusionist dancers Crewckattz Dancers; singing YouTube sensation Roel Manlangit; bromance dancers Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College Dance + Site Project; dance group VMA; folk dancers Bughaw Folkloric Dance Troupe; synchronized swimmers Rosenrei Synchro Sirens; car drifters Lateral Drift Productions Philippines Drivers; motor stuntmen Gensan Stunt Team; and the Balungao Robotic Dancers.
First to battle it out for the judges and viewers’ votes on April 6 are The Security and Escort Battalion Combo of the Philippine Army; light dancer All In One Crew; arnis stunt act Segutier Triplets; gay singers The Miss Tres; magician Marvin Aqrquero; and flairtender Chaeremon Basa. Who will make it as the first set of semi-finalists?
The competition is tougher now as PGT enters the quarterfinals. Judge Ai-Ai delas Alas was first to express how high her expectations are on all quarterfinalists. In a VTR, she quipped “Lahat sila i-ne-expect naming mag-level up.”
Meanwhile, since voting season is about to begin for PGT, judges Kris Aquino and Freddie “FMG” Garcia appealed to the viewers to vote for the acts that deserve to make it through the next round of the competition.
