11 upcoming OPM artists to look out for

In a time when some people have already declared the death of Original Pilipino Music, Philstar comes across 11 undiscovered talents who breathe youth and vitality into the local music scene.
Fresh from Dumaguete City, these guys and girls were chosen by no less than Ryan Cayabyab, Jungee Marcelo, Gabby Alipe (Urbandub) and Ebe Dancel (Sugarfree) from a pool of 60 musicians who joined the recently concluded Elements: National Singing-Songwriting Camp.

Janine Liao, 26

I love music because I grew up watching my father (a folk singer) write, sing and play music. Whenever he was singing and playing the guitar, I felt like he was in another place away from the miseries of life. I did not understand it before, but I do now. That 'state of being' is the reason why I love music.
