Data-driven solutions to address traffic congestion are needed, senators said yesterday as they opposed the proposed exclusive lane for motorcycles along EDSA.

The EDSA-Kamuning flyover will be closed for repairs starting May 1, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced yesterday.

The Department of Transportation is studying establishing an exclusive motorcycle lane along EDSA to mitigate the traffic buildup along the highway, DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista said yesterday.

The University of the Philippines has renamed the UP Diliman Marine Science Institute (MSI)’s building as the Edgardo D. Gomez Hall, after the national scientist who founded the institute.
