Celebrate Chinese New Year at the Araneta Center

MANILA, Philippines - The Araneta Center welcomes the Year of the Water Snake with fun activi- ties that are sure to bring good fortune all the way.

Chinese New Year festivities are plentiful at Gateway Mall, Ali Mall and Farmers Plaza until Feb. 10. Want to know your fortunes for the year? For every P500 single receipt purchase, you can consult the experts who will be at the malls on Chinese New Year weekend to see what's in store for you in 2013. Or you can avail of a free fortune cookie with every P300 purchase starting today until Feb. 10. Who knows? You might be one of the lucky ones to have a fruitful year.

You can also join the Fortune Cookie Jar Contest at Gateway Mall's Food Express, Ali Mall's Food Gal- lery and Farmers Plaza's Food Plaza beginning today until Feb. 28. All you have to do is guess the number of fortune cookies in the jar to win special prizes.

Even more ac- tivities are in store for mall-goers on Feb. 8 to 10. You can learn how to write your names in Chinese Cal- ligraphy, and get to play on a giant Snakes and Ladder game at the mall activity areas.

Feel the festive vibe and join the lion and dragon dancers as they go around the Araneta Center to spread good luck and good vibes (Feb. 9 and 10), be amazed at the live Wushu (Feb. 10 at Ali Mall) and Chinese fan dance demonstration (Feb. 10 at Farmers Plaza) and chase the bad spirits away with a grand fireworks display at Quadrant C (Feb. 10).
