Prizes galore in Consolacion Mountain Bike Duathlon 2.0

CEBU, Philippines — A wide array of fabulous prizes in cash and in kind amounting to roughly P400,000 is at stake for the top finishers of the highly-anticipated Consolacion Mountain Bike Duathlon 2.0 set on March 18 starting and ending at SM City-Consolacion.

Meanwhile, the early bird listup for the two-in-one that consists of a 5km run, 25km bike and 3km run will end tomorrow. Those who will register on or before February 1 will be assessed with only P799 for the individual event and P1,000 for the relay that is open to all-male, all-female or mixed teams. Regular entry fee is pegged at P1,000 for the individual and P1,600 for the relay.

"We assure all the participants that will get their money's worth. More that the fun and excitement it brings, they have a lot a reasons why they must join our off-road duathlon," said Cebuano fitness ambassador Alan G. Choachuy during the event's formal launching yesterday at Chikaan-Parkmall.

Aside from trophies, the top three winners in the Elite category will also pocket cash prizes. As an added bonus, the champion will receive a Lazer eyewear worth P7,500 from Cycle Logic and a OOFOS recovery footwear.

The champion in each age-group (18-under, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49 and 50-above) will get a Lazer eyewear worth P4,200 courtesy of YKK Bikes, while the fastest age groupers will take home an OOFOS footwear and recovery calf sleeves socks by OS1st.

The fastest 5km male and female runners will get an Altra running shoes, while the coolest runner will get a Goodr shades and Feetures.

All those who will finish within the cut-off time of four hours and 30 minutes will be given away medals and souvenir shirts. All entries will have a packed lunch plus a chance to win exciting freebies during the raffle draw after the grueling action.

On top of that, all participants will get a 25 percent discount if they purchase something at YKK Bikes, Missing Link and Cycle Logic. They are also entitled to a free seminar, workout and training from Cebu's top coaches during the two-day expo that coincides with the distribution of race kits on March 16-17 at SM Consolacion.

"That makes our race better, bigger and more exciting this year," said Choachuy, who advised all those who are interested to join to register at the soonest possible time as there are only 300 slots available.
