San Roque FC sizzles in GFL
CEBU, Philippines — The San Roque Football Club booters waxed hot as they won three games to take the lead in the under-11 division of the Grassroots Football League at the San Roque Football Field in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City yesterday.
San Roque blasted Samanthabadra, 6-0, followed by a close 1-0 victory over Giuseppe FC. They claimed their third win at the expense of Abbas Orchard, 6-0.
San Roque now has five victories in the tournament, while Singapore School of Cebu has 4-0 win-loss record after beating Benthel Asia (3-0) and University of San Jose-Recoletos (4-1).
Giuseppe booters got three wins and two losses. They won against USJ-R, 7-1 and Benthel Asia, 3-0.
San Roque also snared the lead after a 6-0 demolition of Balamban. They improved their record to 4-1. Giuseppe won over USJ-R, 4-2, while Samanthabadra defeated Benthel Asia, 3-0.
Giuseppe and Abbas-Orchard share the lead in the under-7 class after they won against Singapore School Blue, 1-0 and San Roque, 4-0, respectively. Balamban was too much for Singapore School, 6-1. (FREEMAN)
