Bohol to host SCUAA meet
CEBU, Philippines — Close to 5,000 student-athletes from five state universities and colleges are set to compete in this year's State Colleges and Universities Athletics Association (SCUAA) Regional Games on January 23-26 at the Bohol Island State University in Calape, Bohol.
The participating teams include defending overall champ Cebu Technological University (CTU), Cebu Normal University (CNU), Siquijor State College (SSC) , Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) and host team BISU.
CTU aims for a back-to-back title while the 2016 regional champions NORSU, which withdraw their participation last year is raring to reclaim the crown.
The delegates will see action in 21 different sporting events. The winners of each discipline will advance to the national championship in which they will represent Region 7 on February 18-23 at the University of Antique in Sibalom, Antique.
” More than the competition, I want all the athletes to enjoy the game and acquire the true essence of sportsmanship within their selves and value respect. Win or lose always be glad that you are able to represent your school,” said SCUAA-Region 7 sports director Nemia Zamora.
