Cebuanos to strut wares in URCC Fight Night

CEBU, Philippines — Cebuano mixed martial arts fighters will try to defend their turf against respective foes in the Universal Reality Combat Championship Fight Night tonight at the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino Mactan.
Leading Team Cebu’s charge is veteran striker Roel ‘Akiyama’ Rosauro of Yaw-Yan ArDigma Cebu who will go up against Pagadian City’s Alexander Aballe of Yawchedelic MMA.
Rosauro wants to score his second victory this year after a knockout win over Butuan City’s Urtych Alarin in the Cebu Extreme Fight League 2 last February at the Cebu Coliseum.
“I want to end the year with a bang. I dedicate this fight to my father who just passed away,” said the 29-year-old Rosauro. “Hopefully a win will open big opportunities for me like fighting in international MMA tournaments.”
Aside from Rosauro, other Cebu warriors who will be showcasing their talents inside the steel cage are Giovanie Macasling and Joel Jabonero of CALMA MMA and Arnel Ylanan of Deftac Vagabond Cebu.
Macasling who is on a two-fight winning streak will battle Benguet’s Ariel Lampacan of Submission Sports; Jabonero takes on Quezon City’s Arvin Chan while Ylanan puts his submission grappling expertise against Adonis Sevilleno of Yawsa MMA.
In the special attraction, former champion Mark Striegl will lock horns with South Korean Kim Ki-Sung.
The rest of the card features Ariel Olieros vs Dave Banguingui, Roque Maha-ay vs Young Bin Kwon and Charles Sayson vs Lucky Mateo. (FREEMAN)
