Creamline battles Lady Eagles today
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu fans are in for an exciting volleyball action as the Creamline Cool Smashers test the mettle of Ateneo de Manila University Lady Blue Eagles in a two-day goodwill games starting today at the University of San Jose Recoletos-Basak campus gym.
Former UAAP MVP and Creamline ace Alyssa Valdez is expecting a tough challenge from the Lady Eagles.
"We will give Ateneo a hard time and at the same time enjoy the game. This is going to be an exciting match and I am expecting them to give us a good fight,” said Valdez.
Before the competition, Valdez and the rest of the Cool Smashers conducted a volleyball clinic at the USJ-R gym participated by 200 young and aspiring athletes.
Aside from Valdez, other Creamline spikers to watch out for are Jia Morado, Pau Soriano, Angeline Nunag Colleen Bravo, Rose Vargas. Aerieal Patnongon, Jamela Suyat, Mary Jean Balse-Pabuyo, Jonalyn Ibisa, Ivy Remulla, Rizza Mandapat and Alexine Cabaños.
They will clash with the equally-strong fighting force of Cebuana Deana Wong, Isabel De Leon, Katrina Tolentino, Pauline Gaston, Bettina Abella, Anna Laureen Gopico, Sydney Eleazar, Candice Gequillana, Jenelle Lo, Madeleine Madayag, Jhoana Maraguinot, Danielle Ravena and Julianne Samonte.
“Matibay din ang Ateneo. This is going to be a competitive and exciting encounter,” said Oliver Almadro who will be guiding Creamline.
Dubbed as “2017 Stars and Spikes Invitational tournament,” the event is also a fundraiser for the benefit of the senior citizens association of Boot and Cogon, Pardo. (FREEMAN)
