Veteran long-distance runner Zafico tops Justice League Run
The 31-year-old Zafico emerged as the fastest in the 10-kilometer race with the time of 37 minutes and 48 seconds. Rozel Argenie finished second in 40 minutes and 19 seconds, while Junery Andales wound up third in 45 minutes and 36 seconds.
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu-based long distance runner Paul James Zafico topped the second edition of the Justice League Run-Cebu leg yesterday at SM City-Cebu grounds.
The 31-year-old Zafico emerged as the fastest in the 10-kilometer race with the time of 37 minutes and 48 seconds. Rozel Argenie finished second in 40 minutes and 19 seconds, while Junery Andales wound up third in 45 minutes and 36 seconds.
In the 5K fun race, Alven Bastismo placed first with a time of 21 minutes and nine seconds. Philip Entia and Madelyn Bedolido took the next two spots with 28:25 and 29:41 clockings, respectively.
The top three performers in the 3K category were Christopher Napalla (10:59),Gerson Casinillo (11:55) and James Janzel Noval (12:20).
Maritess Fragante, marketing director of Global Procurement, Inc. (GPI), said she was elated by the huge turnout of entries.
“It was very successful. I believe that everybody had a great time and they enjoyed wearing their singlets as much as I did,” said Fragante.
More than 500 runners had a fun-filled moment running wearing their favorite Justice League superhero like Batman, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and Wonder Woman. (FREEMAN)
