Oporto shines in 100km ComVal ultra race
CEBU, Philippines — Multi-titled Cebuana ultra racer Rhoda Oporto added an 'eagle' to her trophy collection after ruling the women's division of the 4th Southern Philippines Unified Ultra Marathon in Compostela Valley over the weekend.
Oporto, who resides in Lapu-Lapu City, completed the lung-busting race covering a total of 100 kilometers in 13 hours and 23 minutes to etch her name in stone as the first female finisher of the event. She landed at sixth place overall.
Oporto received a hand-carved wooden Aguila for her feat.
After her successful stint in SPUUM, there's practically no rest for Oporto as she is set to join the North-West 160km battle from Daanbantayan to Cebu City via Transcentral highway on November 18. (FREEMAN)
