Cebu bets caps bid in DSCPI tilt with 11 golds

CEBU, Philippines — Dancesport-Team Cebu City sealed its bid in the three-stage  21st DSCPI National Dancesport Championships with 11 gold, nine silver and eight bronze medals the other night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

Ralph Kevin Lapaz and Mithloni Dinauanao led Cebu’s charge after dominating the Latin and modern standard event under the juvenile 2-A division.

The duo of Therese Andre Quilaton and Andrew Ysla delivered gold via the youth A Latin, while Quilaton paired with Jeffrey Benarao to top the grade B Latin action.

Sofia Isabella Quilaton also showed her potential after winning the gold in the juvenile 2C Latin together with Kharl Michael Minoza.

The tandem of DTCC directress Eleanor Hayco and Anselmo Estillore also produced a gold in the special event 2A Latin.

The rest of the gold medal contributors for Team Cebu were Jasmer Labitad and Lorraine Pacana (SE 1-C Latin action), Jake Corro and Kim Jocson (youth C Latin), Nigel Angel and Shadelle Hernandez  (juvenile C standard) and Minuro Yamada and Charlene Mernilo (SE 3C).  (FREEMAN)
