SWU boys march into finals of CESAFI volleyball
CEBU, Philippines — The Southwestern University-Phinma boys squad upended the defending champion University of Southern Philippines Foundation in straight sets, 26-24, 25-21, to advance to the finals of the 2017 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. volleyball event yesterday at the USPF gymnasium.
In the other semis matchups, University of San Carlos ousted University of Cebu, 25-17, 19-25, 25-18. USC will have the chance to claim the last finals slot if they win against USPF today.
In the secondary girls action, USPF remained unbeaten in the semis after 25-21, 25-17 triumph over University of Cebu.
The University of San Jose Recoletos, for its part, faltered against SWU girls, 25-27, 20-25.
The unbeaten USPF (2-0) and USJR (1-1) will dispute for the slot in the finals today, while the SWU belles (1-1) take on the winless UC (0-2).
Meanwhile, Cebu Institute of Technology-University mens team trounced UC, 25-23, 26-24, 27-29, 25-12, while USJR silenced USPF, 25-23, 25-21, 25-23.
