Bosconians pull historic win in CESAFI football

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Don Bosco Technical College carved a historic victory with a 27-0 thrashing of University of San Jose Recoletos in the secondary division of the 2017 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) football tournament yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.

The Bosconians now hold the record for the most lopsided victory ever made in CESAFI football history. They also shattered their club record of a  25-0 victory in the Pilipinas Cup.

It was not even DBTC’s main gunners who played in the first half as coach Glen Ramos wanted to check how his second stringers carry a game. It went on well as they finished the half with a 9-0 lead.

When DBTC’s key players got into the game, the USJ-R became even more helpless.

Clyde Vitualla scored six goals and Tom-Tom Ramos connected with five as ER Orale delivered three to lead the Bosconians’ charge.

On the other hand, defending champion Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu scored back-to-back victory at the expense of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation, 3-0.

Leo Maquiling, Ray Barrow and Kian Partosa once again powered SHS-AdC.

In the tertiary division, the University of Cebu and USJR fought toa 1-all draw, while the University of the Visayas nabbed its first victory at the expense of the University of San Carlos, 1-0. (FREEMAN)
