UV, USJ-R dominate respective classes in CESAFI scrabble
CEBU, Philippines — The University of San Jose Recoletos romped off with the championship title in the basic level, while University of the Visayas ruled the college division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. scrabble event at the Robinsons Cybergate over the weekend.
USJ-R scored a twinkill after dominating both elementary and secondary divisions against Cebu Institute of Technology-University bets. UV settled for the bronze medals.
It was UV’s turn to dominate in the collegiate action as they snared the championship with 20 points to fend off University of Cebu with 16 points. CIT-U grabbed the bronze with eight points.
UV’s Chrismark Quitara shone as he got the highest single turn for the word “banders” and highest single game with 628 points.
In the elementary level, CIT-U’s Leo Paulo got the highest single turn, while and the highest single game award went to USJ-R’s Steven Russel Formentera.
Jan Dale Catalonia of CIT-U got the highest single turn in the secondary, while Franz Danielle Banguiran of USJ-R secured the highest single game award. (FREEMAN)
