Lions, Ronins, Dragons draw first blood
CEBU, Philippines - The 2002 Lions, 1997 Ronins and 1993 Dragons drew first blood in the best-of-three division finals of the University of San Carlos-North Alumni Basketball Conference (USC-NABC) Summer League 2 powered by Common Ground at the USC-North gymnasium.
Enrico Llanto had a monster show of 38 points, 19 rebounds and seven assists as the Lions slammed the 2008 Flyboys, 94-83, to move away from clinching the Division 3 title.
In other games, Kristian Tapic fired 38 points, six steals and three rebounds as the Ronins blasted the 2001 Lite Shipping, 96-79, to gain a 1-0 headstart in their race-to-2 duel for the Division 2 crown, while Bong Eleazar and Roy Jumao-as unloaded 33 points each laced with 22 rebounds combined as the Dragons tamed the 1994 Bulldogs, 86-81, to close in on Division 1 title.
