Sunsport to accept onsite registration for expanded basketball camp

CEBU, Philippines - Sunsport Basketball will be accepting onsite registration for its expanded training camp set to kick off on August 6 at the Sacred Heart Center Sports Club, just a stone's throw away from Sacred Heart Church along D. Jakosalem Street, Cebu City.

This means that young aspiring hoopsters who wish to further sharpen their skills may enlist still at the venue right at the start of the clinic.

Camp Director Giovannie “Jojo” Romarate Teves, longtime head coach of the Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) Skyblazers, said they usually hold the annual event only during summer but due to strong public clamor, they were prompted to put up weekly camps next month.

Training sessions will be on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. It is open to basketeers aged seven to 19 years old.

As in their previous clinics, Romarate said the participants will learn both the fundamental and technical aspects of the sport.

"We will teach them the many facets and different aspects of playing basketball. More importantly, we will mold them not only players of skills but also of character," he said.

Entry fee is pegged at P1,200 inclusive of an upper jersey and Sunsport basketball 2017 edition.
