Beach Volleyball Republic fires off tomorrow in Moalboal
CEBU, Philippines – Some of the country's top spikers will test each other’s mettle here in the Queen City of the South through Beach Volleyball Republic, which will kick off tomorrow at the Basdako in Moalboal.
The two-day tilt features male and female division.
There are already 10 teams that confirmed in the women’s division and 16 in the men’s side.
Among Cebu’s top bets are the tandems of Floremel Rodriguez and Therese Rae Ramas, Jade Becaldo and Rommel Pepito and Lester John Ariola and Ralph Abanto.
Other entries from Cebu are University of San Jose-Recoletos’ Kent Jay Verbosidad and Alastair Gairanud and Ariel Gabunada and Jobert Dano, University of Southern Philippines Foundation’s Jon Derrick Jason Reyes and Dan Adrian Garnica and the duo of Mark Siacor and Edmar Malata.
Cebuanos will be dealing with two teams from the Far Eastern University, Dipolog, Bacolod National University, University of St. La Salle, Iloilo squad and University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos.
What makes it more challenging is the presence of two Malaysian squads in the men’s division.
This is the biggest beach volleyball tournament that happened in Cebu Province since the Nestle Beach Volleyball regional eliminations a few years back.
