CEBU, Philippines – ALA Boxing Gym prospects Jeo ‘Santino’ Santisima and ‘Prince’ Albert Pagara are hard-pressed to make an impression so as not to jeopardize the brighter opportunities that lie ahead of them.

With this, Santisima and Pagara are dead serious in scoring knockouts as they face respective foreign foes in the supporting bouts of ‘Pinoy Pride 41: New Generation Warriors’ on July 8 at the IEC Convention Center.

The fight card is headlined by unbeaten Mark ‘Magnifico’ Magsayo who will be defending his WBO International featherweight title against Nicaraguan Daniel ‘El General’ Diaz.

Santisima (13-2, 11KOs) hopes to make a statement as he battles undefeated Tanzanian Goodluck Mrema (16-0, 8KOs).

“He moves well and he is a good counterpuncher, but I am confident in winning,” said the 21-year-old Santisima in a press conference yesterday at the Social in Ayala Center Cebu.

“I would love to score a knockout, but I don’t want to promise what round. I just want to show that I am ready. Hopefully after this, I would get a chance to fight for a regional title,” Santisima said.

On the other hand, Pagara (27-1, 18KOs) is now raring to rebuild his name as he slugs it out with Aekkawee Kaewmanee (16-9, 6KOs) of Thailand.

Pagara said that he has finally recovered mentally and emotionally after his painful eight round knockout loss to Mexican toughie Cesar Juarez in their WBO Intercontinental super bantamweight championship bout last year in California.

“I don’t think of that loss anymore. I am ready to begin my journey and hopefully time will come that I will get a chance to face Juarez again,” said Pagara.
