Chipsiror, Abella top Hunat Sugbu 7
CEBU, Philippines – Eric Chipsiror and Joseph Moruri of Kenya topped their respective divisions in the Hunat Sugbu 7: Dagan Para ni Maning yesterday at the Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.
Chipsiror clocked in the best time of 1:07:00 to rule the men’s 21-kilometer run. Prince Joey Lee placed second in 1:14:00, while Argie Tillor wound up third with 1:21:00.
Moruri lorded it over in the 12K class with the time of 41:24. Ian Refuela trailed Moruri in 43:48, while Raymund Ababan came out third in 49:27.
In the distaff side, the 21K crown went to Lizane Abella with the time of 1:30:00. April Flynn finished second in 1:40:00 followed by Reah Garrucho in 1:41:00.
Cherry Andrin claimed the 12K crown after crossing the finish line in 55:28, while Lea Tampus clocked in 57:15 for second place as Jelma Monsanto landed third in 58:50.
The 6K men’s action saw James Mebei dominating in 21:13 against Earl Peonela (21:21) and Ruel Algufera (21:32).
Karen Manayon won the women’s class with her 26:16 clocking. Melody Perez (26:39) and Charisse Encarnacion (27:24) occupied the next two spots.
Harold Kim Guiao and Jenede Arcuino reigned supreme in the 3K class with a time of 10:34 and 13:08, respectively. — (FREEMAN)
