Barakos rout Bro in USC-NABC caging

CEBU, Philippines - The 1988 Barakos banked on a scintillating 33-point show by Edmund Odulio to pummel the 1987 Bro, 77-58, in the University of San Carlos-North Alumni Basketball Conference Summer League 2 powered by Common Ground at the USC-North Campus gymnasium.

 Dindo Sausa added 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Barakos, who positioned themselves at joint third and fourth with the 1985 Legends in Division 1 standings on indentical 3-2 win-loss records.

Rodrigo Tindugan had 25 points and 10 rebounds, while Ramon Tabares and Louie Aluben connived for 25 points, five rebounds and four assists but their efforts proved futile as Bro slumped to its fifth loss against only one victory.

In the other Division 1 game, Jun Bantolinao had 16 points, six rebounds and three assists as the 1982 Dominique’s Classic disarmed the 1984 Knights, 72-56, to even its record to 2-2.

Jonathan Diaz backed up Bantolinao with 16 points and four rebounds as well as Nonelone Belocura with 12 points, two rebounds and as many assists.

Clive Monsanto scattered 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Jeffrey Diaz scored 13 on top of four rebounds for the Knights who further wallowed down cellar without a win in six starts. (FREEMAN)
