Flyboys, Legends down foes in USC-NABC caging

CEBU, Philippines - The 2008 Flyboys and the 1985 Legends gunned down separate foes in the continuing action of the University of San Carlos-North Alumni Basketball Conference Summer League 2 powered by Common Ground at the USC-North Campus gym.

Nilton Otida unloaded 21 points,six assists, four rebounds and two steals as the Flyboys shot down the 2015 Assassins, 67-62.

John Cabello unloaded 19 points, five rebounds and three assists, while Nico Magat added 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists as the Flyboys earned a share of Division  3 lead with the 2007 Zero Seven Waybus on identical 4-1 records.

Kent Malazarte had 25 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Assassins, which suffered its only second loss in six starts.

In Division 1, the ageless Lou Regidor exploded for 37 points on top of 17 rebounds, three blocks and two assists as the Legends whipped the 1986 Siargao Waveriders, 66-46, to improve their mark to 3-2.

Noli Romarate finished with 16 points and five rebounds but couldn’t make a difference as the Waveriders slumped to their fourth loss in six games.—EBV (FREEMAN)
