SWU, USJ-R clinch finals berth in CESAFI volley
CEBU, Philippines - Defending women’s champion Southwestern University and University of San Jose-Recoletos virtually advanced to the finals of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. volleyball event after winning its respective assignment yesterday at the University of San Carlos main gym.
The Lady Cobras annihilated the University of San Carlos, 25-19, 25-22, 25-21, while the Lady Jaguars upended the University of Southern Philippines Foundation, 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.
Both SWU and USJ-R have one game left each this weekend, but they both have 2-0 win-loss record assuring them of the finals slots.
The finals match between SWU and USJR is slated on November to give way for the Uni-Games that will be held in Dumaguete City later this month.
In the girls division, USJ-R belles defeated SWU, 22-25, 25-21, 25-19, while Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu blasted USPF, 25-11, 25-11. University of Cebu also scored a lopsided 25-7, 25-12 victory over Cebu Easter College. (FREEMAN)
