All set for Gaisano Country Mall anniversary run
CEBU, Philippines - This year’s edition of the annual Gaisano Country Mall Anniversary Run will take place on October 1 starting and ending at the mall’s grounds in Barangay Banilad, this city.
As part of its 23rd anniversary celebration, the fund-raising event is for the benefit of Operation Mobilization Philippines (OMP)-Cebu , a non-government group which works in partnership with churches and organizations toward transforming lives and communities through evangelism and community help among the unreached and marginalized.
Fitness buffs have the option to race in either the 5K, 10K, 15K and 21K categories.
Race director Joel Baring said they will be having a new race route that would be more challenging for the participants.
“We have a new route this year. Instead of going to Maxilom Avenue, they will be going from Banilad to Escario and straight to Capitol and as far as V.Rama. It’s another challenging route that runners should not miss,” said Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE).
Close to P100,000 in cash prize is up for grabs to the winners. All 21K and 15K finishers will receive a specially designed medal.
Entry fee is pegged at P650 for 21K, P550 for 15K, P450 for 10K and P350 for 3K inclusive of singlet, race bib, loot bag, post-race refreshments and stub for the raffle draw after the race.
