Suzuki-Ciaz bags men's title of San Roque bootfest

CEBU, Philippines - Team Ciaz under Suzuki FC edged Barili FC via penalty shootout, 3-2, to win the men's title of the San Roque Football Cup last Sunday at the San Roque Parish field in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Elmer Pacubas, Kurt Acre and Erwin Morrok delivered the goods for Suzuki-Ciaz, while a save by its goalkeeper Benjamin Sanchez ended Barili’s dream of going home with a champion’s trophy.

In the women's division, host San Roque FC reigned supreme after outsmarting Warrior FC, 2-1, also in the penalty shootout.

In the age-group battle, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu hauled a total of four titles, while Don Bosco Technology Center bagged three crown to emerged as the most winningest teams out of the 153 entries.

SHS-AdC ruled in the boys 13, 15 and 17 and girls 14 category, while Don Bosco lord it over the players  7 and 9 and boys 11.

In the 40-above class, KN Ferraren snared the crown after pulling off a 3-2 squeaker over the Queen City United. (FREEMAN)
