CEBU, Philippines - An exciting double championship fights for the two vacant titles in the World Boxing Council (WBC) Asia Boxing Council will highlight this year’s Kasadyaan Festival on September 10 in Tupi, South Cotabato.

"We are happy to present the biggest show in South Cotabato this year and I'm sure fans will enjoy a great night of boxing," said boxing promoter Jim Claude “JC” Manangquil, Chief Executive Officer of the Sanman Promotions.

Dubbed as the “Battle in Tupi”, the slambang event will be held at the Tupi Municipal Gym. It is supported by Tupi Mayor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. as part of the annual week-long foundation anniversary of the municipality.

The double main header will feature two of Sanman’s top prospects Reymart Gaballo and Romero Duno against opponents from Thailand.

The undefeated Gaballo (14-0, 12KOs) is fighting Manot Comput for the vacant WBC Asia super bantamweight strap, while Duno (10-1-9KOs) is facing Paiboon Lorkam for the vacant WBC Asia super featherweight crown.

“This is a world-class boxing courtesy of Mayor Tamayo and Sanman Promotions,” said Manangquil.

The 19-year-old Gaballo previously scored a fourth round knockout against Jilo Merlin at the Gaisano Mall Atrium in General Santos City last June 26. On that same card, Duno stopped Eusebio Baluarte in the fourth round.

Gaballo’s rival Comput, on the other hand, is also coming from a knockout victory. The 33-year old Comput scored a first round TKO over Thepyothin Yodwaree last Aprl 24 at the Meenayothin Camp in Bangkok.

Duno’s opponent Lorkam also last won by a first round TKO against Natdanai Pengthong at the same venue.  Lorkam, however, failed in his bid for the vacant IBF Australasian featherweight title, losing by 3rd round TKO to Nathaniel May last May 7 at WA Italian Club in Perth, Australia.

"Both of the Thai fighters are battle tested and hopefully give our young prospect some lessons," said Manangquil. (FREEMAN)
