YLAC seizes solo lead in IBP hoop
CEBU, Philippines - Tope Ang had a breakout performance of 24 points to power YLAC to a 73-62 whacking of the Eagles in the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Cebu Basketball League at the Capitol Parish gym along Escario Street, Cebu City.
Val Ligutan added 16 points as YLAC zoomed to the solo lead with a 5-1 win-loss record. The Eagles fell to their fourth loss against only two wins.
In the other games, Ferdie Riveral sparkled with 21 points as the Badboys pulled off a 68-67 squeaker over the Dzntrs, while Fritz Hontanosas scored on a crucial put-back to bridge the Rebels to a 69-66 triumph over the Spartans.
The Badboys and the Dzntrs are currently in a three-way tie at second place with the Sub Zero Idols on identical 4-2 slates. The Rebels now hold a 2-4 card, while the Spartans further wallowed down the cellar with a pitiful 0-6 mark.
The Sub Zero Idols tasted their second defeat in six starts at the hands of Pañeros, 61-66. The Pañeros thus evened their record at 3-3.
