Cebuana gymnast makes rousing international debut
CEBU, Philippines - Promising Cebuana gymnast Daniela Reggie de la Pisa made her international debut a memorable one after hauling four bronzes in the 13th Singapore Open the other night at the Bishan Sports Hall of the island city-state.
The University of the Visayas star gymnast bagged bronze in the apparatus. The 13 year-old cancer survivor got her other bronzes in the ball and hoops, even as she also ranked fourth in the rope.
Her overall performance earned De la Pisa a bronze in the overall individual under the 13-under age group of the rhythmic gymnastics. She posted a total of 33.350 points, behind host Singapore's Beth Bok Li Ai with 43.200 and Bettie Bok Lien with 41.450.
After Singapore, De la Pisa braces for another challenge abroad via the 5th Zhongling Cup in Beijing, China on August 4-7. (FREEMAN)
