Opening leg of B-Meg tennis series unfurls today
CEBU, Philippines - The opening stage of the four-leg B-Meg Junior Tennis Cup will kick off this morning in two separate venues.
CitiGreen Tennis Resort in Barangay Punta Princesa will host the unisex 10-under, girls 11, 14, 16 and 18-under divisions, while the boys’ classes will be played at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.
Zamboanga’s Jose Maria Pague leads the cast of top contenders in the boys division, while the likes of Mark Nicole Suson, Norman Joseph Enriquez, Francis Hidalgo, Richard Bautista, Rupert Tortal and Venz Alforque represent Cebu.
Leading the contenders in the girls side are Shynne Villareal, Kristin Renee Salimbangon, Zethley Mae Alferez, Elizabeth Abarquez, Ellaine Rose Bahonsua, Lyra Mae Repollo, Tifanny Nocos and Mary Aubrey Calma.
After Cebu, the series shifts to Butuan City for the second leg on November 25-29, then in Cagayan de Oro on December 26-30. Manila will host the fourth and final leg with no confirmed date and venue. (FREEMAN)
