SWU, USC set up title clash
CEBU, Philippines - Southwestern University and University of San Carlos terminated separate foes to set up a championship showdown in the Central Visayas leg of the 14th Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League yesterday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu gym in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.
SWU and USC clash at 3 pm today after the battle-for-third place between Abellana National School and host team Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu.
SWU, who last held the championship trophy four years ago, advanced to the finals after a lopsided 25-22, 25-9 victory over SHS-AdC.
Ateneo went aggressive early in the match, but the SWU belles proved to be too much for them.
USC, for its part, also had an easy straight sets triumph against Abellana National School, 25-10, 25-13. — (FREEMAN)
