Cebuano athletes to show wares in Xterra Langkawi

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Joseph Miller leads a cast of Cebuano triathletes who will compete in the 2016 Xterra Langkawi, the finale of the Asia Pacific Tour Championships, this Sunday in Langkawi, Malaysia.

Miller hopes to improve his performance from his campaign in Xterra Saipan last March where he placed third. He is currently at 11th spot in the standing with 135 points, three points behind 10th placer Olly Shaw. Xterra Philippines champion Bradley Weiss is on top of the standing 251 points.

Aside from Miller, another Ford Forza bet in Elmo Clarabal is also expected to strut his ware in his division.

Also, Motor Ace Racing will be represented by Jose Mari Colminares, Rosalito Albina and Jonel Borromeo.

Colminares and Borromeo will be competing in the 45-49 age division, while Albina is hoping to carve his niche in the elite class.

This will also be Albina’s first ever race abroad. During his last attempt in Xterra a few weeks ago in Albay, Albina had the top three locked down but a severe bout with LBM slowed him down a bit. Despite that, he finished Top 5 in the Asian elite. — (FREEMAN)
