Phl Mountainbike Asian Invitational slated June 10
CEBU, Philippines - Local and foreign pedal-pushers gear up for the Philippine National Championship-Mountainbike Asian Invitational on June 10 -12 at the Danasan Eco-Adventure Park in Danao City.
Riders can get UCI points in both cross-country Olympic distance and downhill competition.
Organizers are expecting Asian riders to join the event since the race is the only one scheduled on June in Asia. Riders from India and Indonesia have already expressed interest in participating.
Aside from juniors and elite class, other categories to be contested include men’s open, master’s 30-39 and 40-above.
Meanwhile, the downhill event will be the kickoff leg of a three-part national series.
There will also be a commissaire’s course on June 5 to 12 also in Danao which will be handled by Singaporean Maximilliaan Mager, UCI international.
Danao City administrator and Philcycling mountainbike commissioner Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez Jr.also hopes that the upcoming event will be able to settle the issues regarding the national team.
