Cebu bets eye glory in Nestea beach volley
CEBU, Philippines - Cebu's beach volley stars will once again show off what they've got with eyes on the topmost glory as this year's Nestea Beach Volley Championships gets underway in Boracay Island today.
The University of Southern Philippines Foundation is back to defend its men's title alongside Southwestern University and the returning University of San Jose-Recoletos.
USPF though will be fielding in a new lineup composed of Left John Tormis and Jason Reyes as Edmar Bonono and Edward Ybañez have already graduated from college and are now playing in a pro league in Manila.
SWU and USJ-R will have bets in both men and women's division.
SWU will be represented by CESAFI MVP Alden Dave Cabaron and Rommel Pepito and last year's Nestea Beach Volley third placers Therese Rae Ramas and Floremel Rodriguez'
USJ-R, on the other hand, is back in action with PRISAA National Games champion Kent Jay Verbosidad and Alastair Gairanod leading its men's squad and Paula Maninang and Jessa "Sangkay" Orquia in the distaff side. — (FREEMAN)
