San Roque Football Club lady booters shine in Thirsty Cup

CEBU, Philippines - San Roque Football Club’s lady booters posted a 1-2 finish in two different classes of the 13th Thirsty Football Cup football tournament yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.

San Roque FC claimed the girls 23 division title, while its under-18 division bets placed second.

Mylene Lozano led San Roque FC  in winning the girls 23 crown with seven points against Siliman University’s five points.

San Roque FC missed a double championship when they fall against Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu in the finals of the girls 18 class, 0-1. Both teams were scoreless after the regulation period, but the Ateneo girls escaped with a thrilling 1-0 during the shootout.

Choco Bacatan was hailed as the Most Valuable Player.

Just like San Roque FC, SHS-Ateneo de Cebu also missed a double victory when its mixed under-11 bets bowed down to Don Bosco Technology Center-B, 0-1.

In the girls 15 action, St.Theresa’s College won the crown after posting a 3-1 victory via shootout over Sta.Barbara FC. STC’s Trizia Musni copped the MVP award.

Giuseppe FC also got its second title after dominating the boys 13 class. Giuseppe FC defeated GAFC of Misamis Oriental, 2-0.

The University of Cebu powered ERCO BRO showed that they are ready for the upcoming Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Regional Meet as they bagged the boys 23 title at the expense of C&L FC. ERCO BRO-UC prevailed over C&L FC via penalty shootout, 3-1.

The University of San Carlos-A also added trophy in its collection after they reigned supreme in the boys 15 over DBTC-A, 1-0.  (FREEMAN)
