Sked for Cebu-Leyte PBA games bared

CEBU, Philippines – Event organizer Van Halen Parmis has bared the complete schedule for the highly-anticipated Cebu-Leyte Cup, a charity basketball event for the benefit of typhoon Yolanda victims set on September 24-28.

The tournament featuring three PBA teams will go full swing on September 25 at the bustling Hinundayan town in Southern Leyte, with the Brgy. Ginebra Kings taking on Goldstar Hardware of Davao City in the first game at 6 p.m. The Barako Bull Energy Cola will then face off with Samsam Gullas-Panalay Tailoring in the main match at 7:30 p.m.

The following day, it's going to be a showdown of top commercial ballclubs as Samsam Gullas-Panalay Tailoring will go up against Goldstar Hardware in the 6 p.m opener, right before Barako Bull and Ginebra figure in an all-PBA duel.

Priced at P250 for the upperbox, P500 for the ringside and P1,000 for the VIP seats, tickets are available at the St. Bernard Parish through Councilor Gemma Calungsod, MBU Meatshop (Sogod and Hinundayan branches), and Pet Care Center in Sogod, Leyte.

Hardcourt action will further heat up in the Cebu leg of the two-province extravaganza, featuring the rematch between Samsam Gullas-Panalay Tailoring and Goldstar Hardware at 7 p.m. on September 27 at the Minglanilla Sports Complex. The main highlight of the day is the surefire blockbuster match pitting the Meralco Bolts versus the Barako Bull Energy Cola at 8:30 p.m.

The finale of the five-day joust will take place on September 28 at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex. In the curtain-raiser at 4 p.m., the Barako Bull will square off against Goldstar Hardware, while in the main attraction at 6 p.m., Ginebra will slug it out with Meralco.

Parmis said the team with the most number of wins will be automatically declared as champion.

Tickets are priced at P150 (upperbox), P250 (stage), and P500 (ringside) for the Minglanilla games and P200 (upperbox), P400 (stage), P500 (lowerbox), and P700 (ringside) for the Mandaue finale. Ticket outlets include New Reroma Pharmacy at Poblacion Ward 1 in Minglanilla, Bigstart Travel assistance at Robinsons-Talisay, Cebu Coliseum, and at The Old Spaghetti House in SM City-Cebu.
