USC spikers make it 4-0
CEBU, Philippines - In volleyball event played at the Aznar Coliseum, the University of San Carlos lady spikers progressed into the semifinal stage after scoring their fourth straight victory at the expense of the University of Cebu, 25-11, 25-13.
USC, thus, firmed up its grip of the lead in the secondary girls division with a clean 4-0 slate followed by USPF and Southwestern University with identical 3-1 win-loss cards. USPF nailed its third win after fending off USJ-R, 25-23, 25-13.
On the other hand, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu evened its record to 2-2 after edging out the listless Cebu Eastern College, 25-12, 25-2.
In the boys class, SHS-AdC finally broke into the win column after overcoming Cebu Institute of Technology University in a three-set thriller, 25-23,26-28, 25-22. (FREEMAN)
