CEBU, Philippines - Philippine super flyweight champion Marco Demecillo Singwangcha will risk his unbeaten record against fellow Mindanao brawler Jessie Tuyor in the main event of the "Fighters of the Future" fight card slated on December 2 at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
Demecillo-Singwangcha, the fighting pride of Iligan City, is unscathed in 18 pro bouts with one draw and 13 wins by knockout. He scored a masterful fourth round stoppage of Marjuan Tabamo in his previous bout to retain his Phl crown before his adoring hometown fans last September 25 at the MSU-IIT Gym in Iligan.
It was Demecillo-Singwangcha's third successful defense of the Phl throne he seized via a ninth round TKO of Louie Bantigue on October 9, 2011 at the Panphil B. Frasco Memorial Sports Complex in Liloan.
This time, the 22-year-old Singwangcha will be tested by the Dipolog-native Tuyor, who appears to be an easy prey with a 6-7-2 win-loss-draw record and is coming from three consecutive defeats.
In the supporting main event of the year-ending fistic show presented by Thai promoter Naris Singwangcha in association with RWS International Promotions of noted Cebuano boxingman Rex "Wakee" Salud, Gerpaul Valero of the Mandaue City-based Flores Stable will slug it out with Ronnie Sunido of Zamboanga City in a flyweight duel scheduled for 10 rounds.
