PNP chief visits Cebu tomorrow

CEBU, Philippines - Philippine National Police Director General Raul Bacalzo will be in Cebu tomorrow to attend the blessing of the newly renovated Integrated Police Office in Visayas at PC Hills, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

Bacalzo will also attend a board meeting of the Police Savings and Loan Association Incorporated.

Police Regional Office-7 Operation Plan Division chief Petronelli Baldebrin told The FREEMAN that they haven’t yet receive the itinerary of Bacalzo.

“I still don’t know his other agenda aside from the two mentioned,” Baldebrin said.

Meanwhile, Cebu Provincial Police Office director Patrocinio Comendador said during Bacalzo’s visit he will cancel the two-day break of personnel who augmented the security on Bantayan Island.

As a tradition, all CPPO headquarter personnel are given a three-day break right after the Holy Week but Comendador will instead give them only two days.

“I guess two days will be enough,” he said.

Task Force Semana Santa overall supervisor and Deputy Provincial Director for Operations chief Teofilo Siclot is thankful that their operation on Bantayan Island was successful.

“Tanan han-ay gikan sa Huwebes Santo ngadto na pag-Domingo sa Minglanilla,” Siclot said.

The PNP is hopeful that next year’s Holy Week observance will also be peaceful.  (FREEMAN)
