Bombing of South Bus Terminal a hoax - Labra

-

CEBU, Philippines - Text messages about the South Bus Terminal getting bomb during the Holy Week spread like wildfire Friday, but the city police assured the message was but a hoax.

Supt. Pablo Labra II, Deputy Director for Operations of the Cebu City Police Office warned yesterday appropriate action would be enforced upon those caught obnoxious messages that disturb peace and order.

“Ato sila gi-warningan na dili gyud magbinuang,” said Supt. Pablo Labra II, Deputy Director for Operations of the Cebu City Police Office.

Labra encouraged the public to immediately report to the police those who spread the prank.

Aside from the prank message on the supposed bombing of the bus terminal, another text message saying the Brandford Church along Jones Avenue would also be bombed also stirred the public, especially those attending service at the church.

Labra, nevertheless, said the city police is prepared for any eventuality during the observance of the Holy Week.

He said policemen have been deployed in major areas where crowds are expected to troop like churches, bus terminals, and sea ports. K-9 units and other bomb-detecting devices were also on standby. — Niña G. Sumacot/JMO   (FREEMAN NEWS)
