Man charged for stealing joggers' bags

-

CEBU, Philippines - A man has been charged for theft before the Regional Trial Court last Friday after being arrested for allegedly stealing the belongings of two women who were jogging at the Cebu City Sports Center last October 14.

The charges were forwarded to the RTC after victims Altair Nessia Rodriguez and Amanda Negado Ramos positively identified Embie Santiago Arciaga as the one who stole their belongings that were left hanging on the oval’s railings.

Rodriguez and Ramos in their affidavit said that they saw Arciaga get their bags that were hung on the railings while they were jogging and they immediately called the assistance of the security guards.

Arciaga, who is from barangay Tinago, was arrested right after security guards stopped him at the gate.

Confiscated from Arciaga were the belongings of Rodriguez and Ramos including a Nokia N90 cellular phone, an S22 China Phone, a wallet containing P5,000, $300, and ATM cards, a backpack also containing $10 Singaporean dollars and P3,100 cash.

He was told to post a bail of P24,000 for his temporary liberty. — Jasmin R. Uy/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
