Road closures, rerouting for Sinulog Festival today

CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) is reminding the public that starting 5 a.m. today, there is rerouting of vehicles and road closures on affected streets along the Sinulog Grand Parade route.

The Sinulog Grand Parade will pass through New Imus Road, M.J. Cuenco Avenue, Gen. Maxilom Avenue, on to Fuente Osmeña, Osmeña Boulevard, R. Landon Street, P. del Rosario Street and N. Bacalso Avenue.

CCTO operation’s head Francisco “Isko” Ouano told The FREEMAN that the road closure on these streets will begin at 5:00 a.m.

He said that they began clearing the grand parade routes from any obstruction at 12 midnight earlier.

With this, public utility jeepneys (PUJs) coming from Talamban with route number 13B and 13C shall head to Gov. Cuenco Avenue, proceed to Archbishop Reyes Avenue, turn left to Mindanao Avenue, to Samar Loop, left turn to Cardinal Rosales Avenue, right turn to Gorordo Avenue, right turn Archbishop Reyes Avenue, to Gov. Cuenco Avenue, and then back to their usual route.

All jeepneys coming from Pit-os with route number 62B and 62C shall go on to Gov. Cuenco Avenue, turn left to Juan Luna Avenue, right turn to Cardinal Rosales Avenue, left turn Samar Loop, proceed to Luzon Avenue, right turn to Archbishop Reyes Avenue, to Ayala Terminal, then proceed to Gov. Cuenco Avenue, and to their usual route, then to their point of origin.

PUJs coming from Mabolo with route numbers 03A, 03B, 03G and 03L while traversing along Juan Luna Avenue, will turn right to J. de Veyra Street, proceed to B. Benedicto Street, left turn to T. Padilla Street, right turn to Serging Osmeña Avenue, right turn to Palma Street, right turn to M.J. Cuenco Avenue, right turn to V. Sotto Street, left turn to Serging Osmeña Avenue, left turn to T. Padilla Street, right turn to B. Benedicto Street, then on to J. de Veyra Street, left turn to Juan Luna Avenue, to their usual route. 03Ls will turn left to J. Limbong Street, right turn to L. Tudtud Street, then to their point of origin.

Jeepneys with route number 06H coming from Ayala, while traversing along Archbishop Reyes Avenue, shall turn right to Gorordo Avenue, left turn to N. Escario Street, right turn to M. Velez Street, to their usual route, then to their point of origin.

Then, PUJ route number 12L going to Ayala, while traversing along R. Duterte Street, shall proceed to M. Velez Street, right turn to Don Gil Garcia Street, left turn to J. Avila Street, left turn to Osmeña Boulevard, right turn to N. Escario Street, then to Ayala, and shall follow the same route in going back to their point of origin.

Jeepneys coming from Lahug or Apas with route number 04C, 04I and 17C while traversing along Gorordo Avenue shall turn left to N. Escario Street, right turn to Acacia Street, right turn to Archbishop Reyes Avenue, right turn to Gorordo Avenue, to their usual route back to their point of origin.

For PUJs coming from Lahug or Apas with route numbers 04B, 04D, 04H, 17B and 17D while traversing along N. Escario Street, will turn left to Osmeña Boulevard, make a u-turn at Ma. Cristina Street on to Osmeña Boulevard, to their usual route and back to their point of origin.

All  route numbers 09E, 09K, 10E, 10F, and 11G while traversing along N. Bacalso Avenue, shall turn left to F. Llamas Street, right turn to Katipunan Street, right turn to Salvador Extension, left turn to Tres de Abril Street, right turn to N. Bacalso Avenue, to their usual route then to their point of origin.

Jeepneys with route numbers 09C, 09F, 10C, 10D, 10O, 11D and PUJ’s bound for SM Cebu City while traversing along N. Bacalso Street, shall turn right to V. Rama Extension, right turn to Tres de Abril Street, left turn to N. Bacalso Avenue, to their usual route, then to their point of origin.  (FREEMAN)
