Woman found dead in Cogon Pardo

CEBU, Philippines — A lifeless body of an unidentified woman was found in a mangrove area in Sitio Little Hawaii, Barangay Cogon Pardo, Cebu City.

The Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office believed that, the woman, around age 60, died from drowning.

Police Officer 3 Geoffrey Gutual, Homicide Section head, said the body was found slumped on the muddy area at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Danilo Abellanosa, a fisherman who discovered the body, told the police that he was about to go fishing when he saw the lifeless body. He immediately reported it to the barangay tanods.

Marry Jesse Mabalato told the responders that she saw the victim walking around the mangrove area, carrying a plastic bottle at around 8 in the morning on December 13.

Police investigation showed no signs of foul play in the woman’s death.

The victim's body was brought to Super Jepoy Funeral Homes and is scheduled for a post mortem examination. (FREEMAN)
