Attempted murder filed vs. Talisay jail strafing financier
CEBU, Philippines — Police filed attempted murder complaints against the alleged financier of the two men who were accused of strafing the Talisay City Jail four times this year.
Supt. Jason Villamater, Talisay City Police Station chief, said they based their complaint on the affidavit issued by the two strafing suspects Arjian Ababon and Troy Briones who identified BJ Gaviola as the one who contracted their services.
Ababon and Briones were arrested at the hospital where they sought treatment after jail guards hit them when they attacked the facility last month.
The two suspects confessed to the authorities and executed an affidavit that Gaviola is the one who contacted them and financed the series of strafing incidents in the facility.
Gaviola allegedly paid them P10,000 for every operation.
However, last week Ababon was shot dead when he was released from jail after posting bail.
Police believe that there is a mastermind behind the strafing incidents and Gaviola was just the middle man.
Villamater also disclosed that Gaviola has a brother named Yamyam Gaviola who is locked up in the city jail.
Last Friday, Yamyam was caught having in his possession one pack of illegal drugs and some drug paraphernalia and one tablet with charger during a greyhound operation.
Police said he could be using the tablet to continue their illegal activities, including drug trade. (FREEMAN)
