CEBU, Philippines — Two people were killed, including an alleged drug personality, in separate shooting incidents in Cebu City in less than 24 hours.

One of the victims was Angelo Gutierrez, 36, resident of Sitio Tayud, Barangay Cogon Pardo. Two unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen shot the victim past 2 p.m. yesterday in the nearby Sitio All Season. Gutierrez succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in the chest.

Senior Inspector Renato Maramag, Pardo police station chief, said the victim was in their list of suspected drug personalities. Police investigators are looking at his involvement in the illegal drug trade as motive.

Another shooting Thursday evening resulted in the death of Christian Yurag, 24, resident of Sitio Silangan Dos Tinago, Barangay Zapatera.

The victim is the number five most wanted in the area of Waterfront Police Station. He has a pending warrant for theft.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was driving his motorcycle along Sikatuna St., Corner Echavez Street in Cebu City when his passenger shot him. Police eyed personal grudge as possible motive in the killing.

The police are still conducting further investigation to identify the back rider who shot the victim. Investigators recovered two empty shells of undetermined caliber, helmets, and wallet of the victim with P100 cash. (FREEMAN)
