Police arrested Japanese national for smoking marijuana at Fuente
CEBU, Philippines — A Japanese national was arrested for smoking marijuana in front of a pharmacy in the Fuente Osmeña Circle Friday evening.
Police Officer 1 Alfeben Lendio of the Cebu City Police Station 2 identified the suspect as Mitsuru Yoshida, 61, a native of Kangawa, Japan and is temporarily residing in a hotel along Gov. Roa Street, Cebu City.
Yoshida was caught in plain view by the operatives of the Police Station 2 during their foot patrol in the area.
The police recovered three marijuana cigarettes.
Lendio said that Yoshida tried to ran after the operatives confronted him, but he was cornered by other responding officers that resulted to his lawful arrest.
The suspect is now detained in at the Police Station 2 lock-up cell and will be charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
