Lapu-Lapu grants incentives to city's topnotchers

CEBU, Philippines - The members of the Lapu-Lapu City Council has approved a resolution granting cash incentives to their constituents who placed in the top ten in this year’s licensure examinations.

Resolution 14-0851-2017 grants P100,000 each to Brylle Pahimutang Gilbuena, Vianca Pearl Amores and Marianito Jesus del Rosario, and a P90,000 cash incentive for Nona Casay Baring.

Gilbuena of Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City placed first in the March 2017 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examinations.

Amores and Del Rosario of Bankal, Lapu-Lapu City both landed on the top spot in the May 2017 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examinations.

Baring of Punta Engaño, Lapu-Lapu City ranked second during the June 2017 Nursing Examinations.

City residents who passed the 2016 Bar Examinations will also be given cash incentives of P5,000 each.

"Fitting recognition by granting appropriate cash incentives to the residents of Lapu-Lapu City. It's proper not only to reward them for their achievement and for giving pride and honor to the city, but also to motivate other residents to excel in their field of endeavors," stated the resolution that was approved on July 25.
