Agnes to serve acting governor for two weeks

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale will serve as acting governor starting yesterday until the end of the month while Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III is on vacation abroad.

Davide has informed Magpale that he will be out of the country from June 19 to 30 for vacation with his family. The governor and his family will visit Jordan and Israel.

"In view thereof, and comfortably to law, you will be acting governor during my temporary absence, until my return on June 30, 2017, perform the duties and discharge the functions of the governor except to appoint, suspend or dismiss employees," the letter read.

PB Member Jerome Librando will also temporarily serve as presiding officer of the Provincial Board while Magpale is acting Governor. (FREEMAN)
