The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A 50-year-old farmer was shot dead by an unidentified gunman Wednesday morning in Sitio Kab-asan, Barangay Marmol, Tuburan, Cebu.

Servando Borja Aparicio, widower and resident of said place, succumbed to gunshot wounds in his chest and head.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim left the house of his live-in partner, Guadalupe Librea, at 6 a.m. to tend to his farm located 200 meters away.

Few hours later, Renante, victim’s son, heard burst of gun fire from the direction of his father’s farm prompting him to check on him. Renante found the lifeless body of his father.

Police investigators are still clueless on the motive and the identity of the culprit because no one witnessed the shooting incident. — Kient Lesley B. Canoy (FREEMAN)
