New Talisay City admin sets priorities

CEBU, Philippines - Discipline employees and re-orient them on their functions are some of the priorities that the new city administrator of Talisay City intends to focus on.

Rudelyn Navarro said that once she assumes office, rules would be strictly implemented for all employees.

"I have to be privy on the absences and tardiness sa employees, kung maayo ug performance ang employees and they know their job well, tingali manindot ang atong city hall ug manindot pud ang siyudad,"she said.

Aside from strictly implementing regulations on absences and tardiness, Navarro added that there will be a re-orientation of employees to remind them of their functions.

She clarified that the orientation does not mean she does not have confidence in the performance of each employee, but that she will only remind them of their duties.

Navarro said that she needs to refresh the ways on how employees deal with the constituents and visitors, especially for those assigned at the mayor's office as well as other departments.

Navarro has been advised by the City Council to be present on its regular session scheduled for Tuesday.

At present, Navarro is still functioning as an officer-in-charge of the city administrator's office pending the release of her appointment papers from the council. (FREEMAN)
