Jaguar ‘hitman’ arrested, 3 others fall in buy-busts

CEBU, Philippines - An alleged member of Jaguar's group has been arrested by the operatives of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) and City Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group (CAIDSOTG) yesterday dawn.

Joselito Tecson, 36, a resident of Basak-San Nicolas, Cebu City, an alleged member of the group of notorious drug personality Jeffrey 'Jaguar' Diaz was arrested at about 2 a.m. by virtue of several warrants of arrest for violations of Section 5 (selling of dangerous drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, as well as for illegal possession of explosives and firearms.

Police Senior Inspector Narrolf Tan of CAIDSOTG said Tecson, who was arrested in his own home, did not resist arrest.

"Two months mi nangita ana niya. Magbalhin-balhin na siya og lugar," he said, adding they were happy to have finally arrested Tecson.

Tan said that when they asked Tecson if he was indeed a member of Jaguar group, he denied the allegation.

Based on the information they gathered, Tecson was allegedly a drug courier and hitman for Jaguar.

Meanwhile, CIB and CAIDSOTG operatives have also arrested Roselyn Navarro, 36, a resident of Tres de Abril, Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City, at about 1:15 a.m. in a buy-bust operation at Sitio Caduloy, Barangay Tisa.

The operatives recovered two medium-sizes and two small-sized packs believed to be shabu weighing 10.68 grams with Dangerous Drugs Board value of P126,024 as well as the P500 buy-bust money from the possession of Navarro.

In another buy-bust operation in Cordova, police also arrested Ricky Tejedor, 38, after he tried to stab a police officer during a buy-bust operation at Sitio Son-oc, Barangay Ibabao, Cordova town on 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

According to police report, as the team, led by Police Officer 3 Elizar Llanes, was about to effect the arrest, the suspect hurriedly took out a hunting knife and attempted to stab the poseur-buyer, Police Officer 1 Ritche Abao.

The suspect was shot in his ankle by Llanes to neutralize him.

The Cordova police were able to recover shabu and buy-bust money from the possession of the suspect.

In Talisay City, a woman was arrested after police recovered packs of suspected shabu hidden in her undergarments at Sitio Mananga 2, Barangay Tabunok, Talisay Saturday dawn.

According to PO3 Junyl Ater of Talisay City Police Station, police were in Sitio Mananga 2 to conduct a follow-up investigation into a pending robbery incident case.

As operatives were conducting the investigation, they saw Emma Linda Dalapo, 40, a resident of the place, holding a white plastic container.

They went to the suspect to question Dalapo and discovered that she had stuffed illegal drugs into her bra in her attempt to hide them from police.

At least P9,500 worth of suspected illegal substances has been confiscated by the police.

Dalapo is now detained at the police station pending the filing of appropriate charges against her. (FREEMAN)
